The 2024 Great Britain D-Day 80th Anniversary Proof 1 oz Silver Coin commemorates one of the most pivotal events of the 20th century—the D-Day landings on June 6, 1944. Released by Great Britain’s prestigious Royal Mint, this coin honors the bravery and sacrifice of the Allied forces who risked everything during this historic World War II battle. Struck from 99.9% fine silver, this £2 legal-tender coin powerfully depicts Allied soldiers disembarking from landing crafts, wading through waist-deep water as they advance toward the beaches of Normandy.

Designed by Royal Mint artist Daniel Thorne, the coin features the inscription “D-DAY 6 JUNE 1944 UTAH OMAHA GOLD JUNO SWORD,” representing the five key assault beaches. The exquisite proof finish enhances the design, with frosted details emerging from mirror-like fields, achieved through multiple strikes of hand-polished dies. The coin is presented in its original Royal Mint packaging, housed in a display case and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

With a limited mintage of just 10,000, this one-year-only release is a must-have for collectors. It serves as a lasting tribute to those who fought on D-Day, marking the 80th anniversary of this monumental event, soon to pass from living memory. Secure your piece of history today.
