Signed by the 12th U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti
This is an historic point in the US Mint's Silver Eagle program. It is the final year that the Silver Eagle would bear John Mercanti's iconic heraldic eagle reverse design. Between that, and having it signed by John Mercanti himself, is a rare enough find on its own. The deep cameo proof just makes it that much more of a specialty item, with beautiful frosted features and a perfectly mirrored field. You will not see many US coins like it.
