This is a missing clad layer, which results when an impurity prevents the copper and nickel to bond on a planchet. The nickel will become dislodged and fall of the planchet, resulting in an appearance that looks half copper, half nickel! This error is strikingly obvious and an amazing find! Not only is it a rare error, but it's also verified by NCG and in a high MS65 grade!
