1964 US Mint Set - 10 Coins - Unopened

The 1968 U.S. Mint Set – 10 Coins – Unopened offers a fascinating snapshot of American coinage from the late 1960s. This original, unopened set preserves the coins in their official Mint packaging, making it an appealing choice for collectors of vintage U.S. coinage.

The set contains 10 uncirculated coins from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints, including Lincoln Cents, Jefferson Nickels, Roosevelt Dimes, Washington Quarters, and Kennedy Half Dollars. Collectors will appreciate the opportunity to own both P and D Mint issues together in one original set.

A key highlight is the inclusion of 90% silver coins. The 1968 set contains two 1968-S Roosevelt Dimes, two 1968-S Washington Quarters, and two 1968-D Kennedy Half Dollars? Actually, the 1968 Mint Set's silver content needs careful distinction: the 1968 Roosevelt Dime and Washington Quarter are clad, while the 1968-D Kennedy Half Dollar is 40% silver; the 1968-S coins are proof coins and are not part of the standard 10-piece Mint Set.

The 1968-D Kennedy Half Dollar is therefore the set's silver highlight, struck in 40% silver and containing approximately 0.1479 troy oz of actual silver. Combined with the vintage uncirculated coins and original packaging, this set makes a distinctive addition to a U.S. coin collection.
