The 1921 San Francisco mint of this coin was only 1.5 million miking this coin very scarce. In fact, this issue is scarce across all grades, and Mint State pieces are genuinely rare. The obverse master die for this 1921 coin was sharpened with hand engraving, resulting in a crisper rendition of the date and designer's initial.
