1886 Morgan Silver Dollar Philadelphia VAM 1A Line in 6 TOP 100 - PCGS MS63 Sight White

The 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar Philadelphia VAM-1A “Line in 6” is a remarkable example from one of the most popular series in American numismatics. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint from .900 fine silver, this coin features the famous “Line in 6” variety, a distinctive die marker that places it among the TOP 100 VAMs sought after by variety collectors. Graded PCGS MS63 Sight White, it boasts brilliant luster and crisp detail.

The obverse displays Lady Liberty in George T. Morgan’s timeless design, surrounded by 13 stars symbolizing the original colonies. The reverse features the classic eagle with outstretched wings, clutching arrows and an olive branch — representing both strength and peace. This coin’s bright, original surfaces make it an exceptional survivor from the late 19th century.

With a mintage of 19,963,000, the 1886 issue is common in circulated grades, but high-grade VAM-1A varieties are much scarcer. At PCGS MS63, it stands among just 73 coins certified in this condition, with an estimated Sight White population of 10 or fewer, making this piece especially desirable among toned and white coin enthusiasts.

Each coin is authenticated and encapsulated by PCGS, ensuring authenticity and long-term preservation. The combination of its recognized VAM status, limited population, and exceptional eye appeal makes this coin a standout addition to any advanced Morgan Dollar collection.
