1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar New Orleans - PCGS MS65 Old Green Holder CAC

The 1885-O Morgan Silver Dollar is a shining example of New Orleans Mint craftsmanship during America’s silver dollar era. Struck from a mintage of 9,185,000, this coin remains one of the more desirable New Orleans issues thanks to its consistently strong strikes and lustrous surfaces. This particular example stands out not just for its condition, but for its exceptional pedigree and presentation.

Graded PCGS MS65 and housed in the classic Old Green Holder (OGH), this coin carries the prestige of an earlier PCGS generation known for conservative grading standards. On top of that, it has earned the coveted CAC endorsement, confirming that it meets the highest standards for quality within its grade.

While over 24,000 examples have been graded MS65 by PCGS, this coin belongs to an elite subset—estimated at 15 or fewer with CAC approval, and possibly 10 or fewer in Old Green Holders. That combination of rarity and quality makes it a truly standout piece for advanced Morgan Dollar collectors.

With booming luster, frosty devices, and top-tier verification, this 1885-O delivers everything collectors want in a premium Morgan—beauty, history, and scarcity rolled into one. It’s an exceptional coin that bridges old-school grading integrity with modern collector standards.
